COLUMBIA LAW REVIEW COMMENTS PROGRAM NOW ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS FOR SPRING 2024 – DUE MAY 28
The Columbia Law Review Comments Program is now open and accepting submissions for the spring semester on a rolling basis until May 28, 2024 at noon. All law students are invited to submit a piece of original scholarship to be considered for publication on CLR Forum, the online companion of the Review. Writing a Comment provides an excellent opportunity to have your work showcased, can satisfy your Minor Writing Credit, and may help students get clerkships or begin a career in academia.
A Comment examines a current development in the law, such as a recent judicial decision or piece of legislation. Although the length of a particular Comment will vary with the topic, a Comment is typically around fifteen pages in length. Many students find that seminar papers or other research products prepared for class make successful Comments after some editing.
Please review the attached Spring 2024 Comments Manual, which explains the Comments Program in greater detail, and template for a preemption check, which must be completed as part of any Comment submission. Because the Notes Committee uses an anonymous review process to select Comments for publication, all submissions or questions about a particular author’s piece should be submitted to the Review at comments@columbialawreview.org.
